Privacy policy
Previsioni Traffico shows traffic forecasts and travel times. It requires no registration, shows no advertising and does not build user profiles.
Controller and contact
The Previsioni Traffico app is published by the developer MicioMik, the controller of the data described on this page.
For any privacy request, or to exercise your rights (access, deletion, objection), write to: previsionitraffico@gmail.com.
Data that stays on your phone
- Saved places (for example "Home" and "Work"), favourites, preferred arrival time and language.
- A random code that anonymously identifies the device, used to limit abuse of reports.
You can delete them at any time from the Favourites tab with "Delete data on this phone".
Data sent to the service
- Search and route calculation: the text you search for and the start and destination coordinates are sent to the traffic and map data provider (TomTom) to get results. Our server keeps the answers in a temporary cache for at most 6 hours, to avoid repeating the same calculations.
- Recorded trips (only if you use "Leaving now" and then choose "Send"): start and destination area rounded to about 1 km, type of day, departure hour, expected and actual duration, your rating and whether something unexpected happened, together with the device's random code. They are used to improve forecasts for everyone.
- Reports (only if you use "Report"): type of event, location at the time of the report, time and the device's random code. Reports are visible to other users without any data identifying you.
Location
Your location is read only after you grant permission on your phone, in three cases: when you tap "Report", and it is then sent with the report; when you calculate a route starting from "My location", and it is then used as the starting point of the calculation; and, if you accepted it, to open the map on your area, in which case it stays on the phone and is not sent. The app does not track your movements in the background.
How long
- Recorded trips: up to 12 months.
- Reports: visible for a few hours, then deleted within 7 days.
Where data is processed
The service is hosted on Cloudflare. Traffic, search and map data are provided by TomTom. To check pedestrian and limited traffic zones, some points of the route (with no data identifying you) are sent to the public OpenStreetMap Overpass service. For weather forecasts along the route, the approximate coordinates (about 10 km) of the stretches you will drive are sent to the public service of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway), again with no data identifying you. All act as technical providers.
Legal basis and your rights
You send trips and reports voluntarily, with an explicit action. You have the right to request access, rectification or erasure of your data and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). Since we do not collect names, emails or accounts, please include the device code shown in the Favourites tab in your request.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 14.
Safety while driving
Do not use your phone while driving. Reports should be made when stopped or by a passenger.
